Harrogate KTA founder and 6th Dan Master Kambiz R Ali attended the 1st International Welsh Taekwondo Championships in Cardiff this weekend, which was held at the Sport Wales International Centre. Master Ali attended the competition with just one student, eager and ready to compete in the event on Sunday 1st of July in the home of Double Olympic Gold Medalist Jade Jones. Master Paul Jones, the organiser of the championships, invited Master Ali to provide medals for the event, to which Master Ali did to an excellent standard. Medalists at the championships were very pleased with the medal quality. Team KTA fighter, Aaron Leith, won a silver medal at the championships, just losing out on gold against a far more experienced fighter. Master Ali was very pleased with the outcome of the competition and had this to say:
This has been a really enjoyable weekend for us, we have had a great time competing at the Wales International Championships and enjoyed ourselves in Cardiff. We still have a lot of work to do over July though, we have a grading next Saturday, we are competing at the London International championships the following weekend and then we have the World Taekwondo Hanmadang championships in South Korea which is going to be a very important competition for us. I want to extend my gratitude to Master Paul and his team for organising the championships this weekend, it has been a huge success and he should be very proud, me and my team really enjoyed it.
If you are interested in learning Taekwondo, we offer Taekwondo classes to people from as young 3 years old. You can contact Master Ali with the following details:

Grandmaster Kang presented the award to Master Ali with the Mayor of Harrogate.
K.R.Ali Taekwondo Academy would like to thank Grandmaster Ik Pil Kang for running the 3 international Poomsae Seminars over the recent Bank Holiday Weekend. The instruction and guidance he has passed to students in Scotland, London and Harrogate will be remembered and practiced by all. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Grandmaster Shin who also assisted at the Seminars.
We would also like to use this post as an opportunity to announce that the date of our 3rd Belgium Seminar has been confirmed, and we have the dates of our new Seminars in Sweden, Canada and USA to come soon! 2018’s Sport Relief week (week beginning 19th March 2018) started with a Taekwondo demonstration at Hampsthwaite Church of England Primary School. Head Teacher Mr Phoenix invited Master Kambiz R.Ali to do a Taekwondo demonstration as part of their sport relief week.
Master Ali has 3 students who attend the school. They participated in the demonstration showing Poomsae pattens. Master Ali went through the basic techniques, how to punch and how to block, as well as some board breaking.
He even got the teachers involved, everybody enjoyed their time during the demonstration. Mr Phoenix thanked Master Ali for supporting sport relief week.
Master Ali said it was great to see all the children getting involved in sports such as Taekwondo and hopes to forge sponsor links with the Hampsthwaite school in the coming months by offering Taekwondo classes as an after school club.

Presenting Harrogate K.R.Ali Taekwondo Academy’s brand new kicking pads in a variety of sizes!
We have also invested in 32 brand new WT sponge mats to upgrade some of our current mats.
These purchases are a step in the right direction to get the club fighting for medals in sparring competitions in the near future – if students wish to compete, they need to speak to Master Ali about purchasing their own WT approved body armour.
